Yellowstone season 5, part 2, has a premiere date of Sunday, November 10 at 8pm ET/PT. (Internationally, Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on November 10th, the U.K. on November 11, and in Latin America, Brazil and France later in November.) Although it was originally thought that the series would end with season 5, part 2, especially with the shaky ties the show has with star Kevin Costner, there is still a possibility that the series might continue on with season 6 in addition to the spin-offs that are planned.

Paramount Network has now unveiled the official trailer to the next part of the fifth season of Yellowstone.

TV’s #1 show, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.

The series was created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, and they both serve as executive producers alongside Art Linson, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros and Keith Cox. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The Yellowstone season 5, part 2 images below feature the characters played by Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Long), Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Montana Attorney General Jamie Dutton), Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry), Finn Little (Carter), Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), and Mo Brings Plenty (Mo).

Recently, a featurette was released that revealed how the actors were kept in the dark during the season. The featurette includes cast and crew discussing how “secretive” this final season has been for them. “On one hand, it was a big family reunion coming back, and on the other, it was a new set of challenges,” said director Christina Voros. “There was a lot of security around the script and the narrative. It’s a huge testament to the intrepidness of the crew, because you’ve learned how to do something a certain way for seven years and all of a sudden to have a new set of challenges that come from protecting the story for the sake of the audience.“

Jen Landon, who plays Teeter, added, “We get these redacted scripts. Basically everything is blacked out, except for your lines.” Colby actor Denim Richards said this adds to the “uniqueness” of the final season. “The audience will really see real reactions that were really not rehearsed.“

On June 20, 2018, Paramount Network aired the first episode of a neo-Western drama television series called Yellowstone – and a megahit franchise was born. Lately, news regarding the franchise has been focused on what’s coming further down the line. We’ve been hearing casting announcements about the spin-off series The Madison and 1923, and we’ve heard that the flagship show, which was said to be ending with “season 5, part 2,” might continue with a sixth season after all… but before we get there, we still need to see Yellowstone season 5, part 2, which has a premiere date of Sunday, November 10th at 8pm ET/PT. (Internationally, Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on November 10th, the U.K. on November 11th, and in Latin America, Brazil and France later in November.) With that date still a couple months away, a batch of first look images, and a very quick teaser (which still features A LOT of Kevin Costner) from the new episodes have arrived online. You can see the images at the bottom of this article.

Yellowstone final season

While it was reported earlier that Paramount+ original content giant Taylor Sheridan will not be as closely involved with the development of Sicario 3, he definitely has his dance card filling up with more Yellowstone-related projects. The final season of his acclaimed series, which has been immensely popular with audiences, has been marred by behind-the-scenes difficulties with its iconic leading man, Kevin Costner. The last season’s production has also fallen in line with a bevy of other projects that have been delayed with the dual strikes from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

Paramount Network has just announced that Yellowstone‘s final season, which was originally slated to premiere this year, has now moved to November 2024. Additionally, Sheridan has been able to expand the Yellowstone story already with two spin-offs, 1883 and 1923. Paramount+ is now set to premiere two more spin-offs, 1944 and 2024. The President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, Chris McCarthy has announced, “Within five years, we grew Yellowstone from a hit U.S. cable show with five million viewers into a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans around the world and multiple extensions – and, we’re just getting started. On the heels of 1883 and 1923’s success, our new planned spinoffs, 1944 and 2024, will take audiences on a thrilling, new and unexpected journey with the complex and compelling storytelling that has become a hallmark of the franchise and has helped turn it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon – thanks to the creative mastermind of Taylor Sheridan.”

David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, which co-produces with MTV Entertainment Studios, stated, “The global success of Yellowstone continues to thrill and excite us at 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch. This has been such an exhilarating ride with our partners at MTV Entertainment Studios and we can’t wait to bring 1944 and 2024 to audiences everywhere.”

Yellowstone follows “the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.” The show was created by Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind RiverHell or High Water and Sicario) & John Linson. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay and Christina Voros.

Costner Yellowstone

Josh Lucas, who portrays a young John Dutton on Yellowstone, has nothing but respect for his veteran counterpart played by Kevin Costner, saying he’s irreplaceable in the role.

At the PaleyFest this past weekend, Lucas quasi-addressed the drama surrounding Kevin Costner’s role on the smash Paramount Network western Yellowstone. Although he didn’t go into too many details, he did note that it would be an impossibility to replace Kevin Costner, citing the bond between the actor and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. “Taylor has become and Kevin has become John Dutton and John Dutton is as filled with Taylor Sheridan as it is with Kevin Costner. And so for me it’s finding those connective tissues…So the audience sees that, and it’d be very easy to dismiss anyone playing John Dutton except for Kevin Costner.”

Lucas also suggested that both Sheridan and Costner owe it to Yellowstone fans to press on, no matter what turmoil may or may not be brewing within the Dutton ranch. “[There’s] the responsibility of a huge movie star and a brilliant writer who are putting a lot of crazy love and pressure on each other and the show to make something that people love. There’s a reason why people love it.”

The drama surrounding Kevin Costner on Yellowstone stems from the actor reportedly only being willing to work for one week to shoot all of his scenes for the second part of season five. While this claim has been slammed by those in the know (“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie.”), there have also been reports that the production could be stalled due to Costner’s alleged demands.

Of note, Lucas was only made available for the Yellowstone event due to Sheridan, Costner and more dropping out, something the press wasn’t made aware of until less than an hour prior. This, of course, caused further speculation as to the stability of Yellowstone, which is currently set to return to conclude its fifth season sometime this summer.

How do you feel about the situation? Should Kevin Costner see Yellowstone through to the end without new stipulations? Give us your take in the comments section below.

Paramount+ has a lot of original programming that stems from Taylor Sheridan’s creation, Yellowstone. But, the flagship show’s been in the eye of a storm recently, with it being reported that the show will not be continuing. Rather, a new extension of the series will start with Matthew McConaughey in the lead role and notable cast members from the parent show may join him. However, ComicBook.com is now shedding light on new behind the scenes details that may hold up production of season 5 of the popular Kevin Costner starring vehicle.

Earlier, it has been reported that Costner was aiming for a shorter shooting schedule on the back end of season 5, and his team had given the production an availability of just one week to film all his scenes for eight episodes, with two additional days for pick-up shots. Hollywood attorney Marty Singer responds to the news, “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie. “It’s ridiculous—and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”

According to Puck’s Matthew Belloni, “Costner’s original contract for the series included an increase in pay should the series last six episodes, jumping from $1.2 million to $1.5 million per episode. Including the various delays involved with the show, Yellowstone Season 5B will essentially film and release in the initial window reserved for the show’s sixth season.”

The insider expounds, “But more likely, this is a relationship that has run its course. [Yellowstone creator Taylor] Sheridan is certainly furious, I’m told; he can’t finish writing the 5B episodes until the Costner drama is resolved and his star is either in or out.”

In January, Paramount Network announced that the latter half of season 5 was to premiere this summer. No specific date was given, but it’s just as well considered to be delayed for the moment as the behind the scenes drama continues.

In news that comes as no surprise, the Paramount Network’s massive ratings hit Yellowstone, will be returning for a fifth season, per Deadline.

Production on season five will begin in May and with its return, comes the news that guest stars Jen Lendon and Kathryn Kelly have been upped to series regulars. They’ll be joining Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, and Gil Birmingham.

Yellowstone returning for a fifth season is a legit no-brainer. The series continues to break records with its season four premiere registering 14 million total viewers and its finale garnering over 15 million total viewers. Chris McCarthy, President, and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, had this to say about the renewal:

“Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts. Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favorite family and, this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”

In addition to its ratings success, Yellowstone also recently scored SAG and PGA nominations which further solidifies its place as a television powerhouse. It doesn’t appear that Yellowstone is going anywhere anytime soon as it’s proving to be a rare television hit in a time when streaming has become a dominant force.

The wait for the fourth season of Yellowstone posed a ton of questions for fans who awaited the reveal of which members of the Dutton clan survived the assassination attempts on their lives. We quickly learned that everyone made it when season four premiered this past November but that doesn’t mean that everyone is free and clear. This past weekend saw the fourth season finale pose a lot of questions that you are likely wondering yourselves as we have another year to wait before Yellowstone season 5. With that in mind, here are the biggest things to expect from the fifth season of Taylor Sheridan’s contemporary western drama.

Goodbye Jimmy, hello crossovers

Jefferson White has turned supporting character Jimmy into a fan favorite over the years. After surviving beatdowns, belittling, and an almost crippling rodeo accident, Jimmy has left the Dutton ranch and headed down to Texas to the famed 6666 ranch. We know that 6666 is the title of an already announced spin-off series and moving an established character is a great way to build in some fan support (not that 1883 needed one to become a huge hit on Paramount+). This also opens the door for the two series to feature crossovers both in terms of characters as well as plotlines, similar to shows like The Walking Dead, NBC’s Fire series, and The CW’s Arrowverse shows.

Governor Dutton?

The fourth season centered on Jamie’s run for the biggest office in Montana, but the season ended with his adoptive father John (Kevin Costner) accepting the endorsement for the job from Governor Perry (Wendy Moniz). Was this just a tactic to block Jamie from taking the seat of power or will the patriarch of the Dutton family shift into legitimate politics and let one of his kids take over his ranch? I would be willing to bet that in Yellowstone season 5, John stays out of the political arena but I can’t say I wouldn’t love to see Kevin Costner play cowboy in a much different realm than we have seen him in before.

Beth and Jamie’s relationship will get worse

The tumultuous relationship between Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) was a mystery for the first three seasons of the show until we found out about the root cause last season: Jamie had Beth sterilized during an abortion procedure when they were young. The divide worsened this season leading to Beth all but forcing Jamie to kill his birth father Garrett (Will Patton). The aftermath for both of these characters is unclear. Beth is now married to Rip (Cole Hauser) while Jamie’s life is in tatters. Can they reconcile? Will Jamie be welcomed back to the Duttons with so much blood on his hands? I would imagine that Jamie and Beth’s rivalry will worsen in the next season rather than improve and that means some meaty acting for both of these talented performers.

The End of Kayce

Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) has had no easy path over the first four seasons, especially when it comes to the divide between his family and his wife and son. It has seemed many times that Kayce and Monica (Kelsey Asbille) were headed for divorce but never as much as with the budding relationship between Kayce and Avery (Tanaya Beatty) this season. The finale found Kayce having a vision of two paths which led to his telling Monica that he saw “the end of us”. What exactly he means is unclear but it certainly looks like Kayce is going to lose his wife or his part in the Dutton clan in Yellowstone season 5.

Yellowstone season 5 details

Who can stop the Duttons? Thomas Rainwater

Over the four seasons of Yellowstone, the Dutton family have fought off developers, investors, criminals, and more, but they have all come and gone. The only character who has come close to going toe to toe with the family has been Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham). Sometimes ally and sometimes enemy, Rainwater wants nothing more than the very land under the Dutton ranch to be returned to his people. Birmingham felt very underused this season but it also feels like Taylor Sheridan has been biding his time for the chief to get his machinations ready to finally reclaim the birthright of his people.

Whatever comes next, the odds are that we will have at least a year before the premiere of the fifth season of Yellowstone. In the meantime, Mayor of Kingstown and 1883 are available to stream along with the first four seasons of Yellowstone. Feel free to share your theories on what is coming next in the comments below and let us know what you want to see next for the Dutton clan.

Yellowstone, season four, finale

One day I will join the Yellowstone movement but until then, I will continue to be envious that I’m missing out. With each season, the Paramount Network series continues to grow in fandom and ratings which was proven by the massive amount of viewership the season four finale pulled in for the network.

The Yellowstone season four finale wrangled over 10 million total viewers and more than 9 million on the Paramount Network alone, per “Variety.” This represents an 81% increase over its season three finale (5.2 million viewers). These are numbers that networks dream of and it demonstrates the power of the series as it continues to captivate viewers.

Yellowstone is the number one series of 2021 across Broadcast, Cable, and Premium for both the 18-49 and 25-54 demo, a key metric for advertisers. Breaking down the numbers, 9.3 million total viewers tuned in on the Paramount Network while its simulcast on CMT pushed the viewership to 10.3 million total viewers. This makes the season four finale of Yellowstone the most-watched cable telecast on cable since The Walking Dead season three premiere in October of 2017. Chris McCarthy, President, and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, had this to say about the season finale numbers:

Yellowstone continues to shatter records with more than 11 million viewers tuning into the season finale, proving we’ve hit a cultural nerve – from the center of the country to each of the coasts – and still have lots of room to grow on linear. Our strategy to franchise Yellowstone into a universe of series to fuel growth for Paramount+ is already exceeding expectations with 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown proving to be two of the top titles.”

The Yellowstone universe has continued to grow with 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown also putting up solid results on Paramount+. The two series have helped the streamer launch original series on the platform to great success and substantial subscriber growth.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders – land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. The series stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reily, Cole Hauser, Jefferson White, Wes Bentley, and Will Patton. Season four also sees new cast additions that include Piper Perabo as Summer Higgins, an outside protestor who’s against industrialized farming, Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities, Kathryn Kelly as Emily, a vet tech who gets close to a cowboy; and Finn Little as Carter, a young boy who’s like a miniature version of Rip.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of television. Yellowstone is already a huge hit on the Paramount Network and now the prequel series, 1883, has scored the best debut for an original series on the Paramount+ streaming service.

According to ViacomCBS, the Sunday premiere for 1883 broke a new record for the platform as its most-watched original series ever. Per the company, the series was up more than double over the previous record with additional third-party reporting still to come. Like all of the streaming services, ViacomCBS didn’t provide hard numbers for its streaming performance but there are other signs to indicate that the debut was pretty huge.

1883 also premiered as a sampling event on the Paramount Network following Yellowstone and that special showing pulled in 4.9 million total viewers and that makes it the biggest new series premiere on cable since 2015. Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, ViacomCBS Streaming, had this to say about the debut:

“The results of 1883’s debut are truly phenomenal. The day 1 streaming numbers coupled with the results of the linear sampling effort, and social response from our audience show the tremendous promise for this series. We look forward to continuing this epic journey with our subscribers.

1883 was also strong on social media and it marked the most social drama series Sunday night crossing streaming, according to data from Talkwalker Social Content Ratings. 1883 is also showing signs that it’s headed to be just as strong as its parent series. The premiere is tracking ahead of the season debut of Yellowstone in key demos like the 18-49 (+125%, 1.49 vs. 0.66) and 25-54 (+135%, 2.39 vs. 1.02). With premieres, simulcasts, and encores across the night, 1883 was watched by 6.4 million viewers while the season one premiere for Yellowstone was watched by 5.5 million viewers. Chris McCarthy, President and CEO ViacomCBS Media Networks, also commented on the success of the series out of the gate:

“The success of Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 is another proof point of our unique model to leverage our linear platforms and franchise our biggest hits to supercharge Paramount+. We went big with 1883 – the Yellowstone prequel – and it delivered big and shattered all records – as both the #1 most-watched original series premiere ever on Paramount+ and the biggest new cable premiere since 2015, with nearly five million viewers tuning in to Paramount Network Sunday’s airing. Given the tremendous viewership on Paramount Network, I’m confident our strategy of sampling on the Paramount Network will drive awareness and viewers to Paramount+.”

Reviews for 1883 have been strong with the show scoring an 85% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 88% audience score so far. Created by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, 1883 follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land – Montana. The series stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Billy Bob Thornton, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Audie Rick, Marc Rissmann, Eric Nelsen, and James Landry Hebert.
