Best known for playing Bill S. Preston, Esq. in the Bill & Ted movies (and for being one of the vampires in The Lost Boys), Alex Winter also has many directing credits to his name, including the 1993 cult classic oddball comedy Freaked. His latest feature directorial effort is Adulthood, which is described as a darkly comic modern noir – and Variety reports that Adulthood has secured a U.S. and Canada distribution deal with Republic Pictures. A release date has not yet been announced.

Winter provided the following statement: “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Republic Pictures for the North American sales and release of our film. They have great instincts and are dedicated to quality indie movies.

Scripted by novelist Michael M.B. Galvin, Adulthood tells the story of sister and brother Megan and Noah, who are barely hanging on in present day America. When they discover a dead body, long buried in their parents’ basement, the siblings are pulled back to the hometown they ran away from and into a rabbit hole of crime and murder.

The film stars Josh Gad (Wolf Like Me), Kaya Scodelario (Crawl), Billie Lourd (American Horror Story), and Anthony Carrigan (Barry).

Winter also appears in an acting role, and produced Adulthood with Scott Kroopf, Russell Hollander, and Lisa Wolofsky, as well as Michael Cho and Tim Lee of Olive Hill Media, and Danny Roberts, H.S. Naji, and Jackie Langelier of Fresh Fish Films. Olive Hill Media and Fresh Fish Films provided the funding. Connie Tavel serves as an executive producer alongside Mimi Rode of Olive Hill Media and Thorsten Schumacher of Rocket Science. Rocket Science is currently arranging finance for international sales.

Michael M.B. Galvin previously worked on the screenplay for the 1999 comedy Freak Talks About Sex (which was based on one of his novels) and Matthew Lillard’s 2012 feature directorial debut, Fat Kid Rules the World. On the acting side of his career, Alex Winter was most recently seen in the horror comedy Destroy All Neighbors.

Stranger Things

After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things (which is also the last season of the show) finally went into production at the start of the year and is now deep into its twelve month shooting schedule… and during an appearance at the Happy Sad Confused podcast’s 10th anniversary celebration, cast member David Harbour said the series finale will be worth the wait, because it’s the best episode they’ve ever done.

Stranger Things has the following synopsis: A love letter to the ‘80s classic genre films that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is a thrilling drama set in the seemingly normal Midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana. After a boy vanishes into thin air, his close-knit group of friends and family search for answers and are pulled into a high-stakes and deadly series of events. Beneath the surface of their ordinary town lurks an extraordinary supernatural mystery, along with top-secret government experiments and a dangerous gateway that connects our world to a powerful yet sinister realm. Friendships will be tested and lives will be altered as what they discover will change Hawkins and possibly the world — forever.

Harbour told Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz and the people in the audience that he has very strong opinions about the show that may not match the opinions of a fan. Since he works on the show and sees “the nuts and bolts,” he’ll get very mad at what he thinks is a bad episode or if there’s a season he didn’t like. He said (with thanks to People for the transcription), “I can be very critical of this show,” but with the series finale, “They land the plane, and it is the best episode they’ve ever done. The end of this episode when we were reading it – just us reading it – about halfway through, people started crying. Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite. I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood. Like, they started the show when they were 11 and 12, and here we are reading [the finale]. It’s 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful. It’s such a great episode, and it’s such a great season. You guys will love it.

Here’s the list of the cast members and the characters they played in season 4: Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Matthew Modine (Dr. Brenner), Paul Reiser (Dr. Owens), Jamie Campbell Bower (Peter Ballard), Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson), Eduardo Franco (Argyle), Sherman Augustus (Lt. Colonel Sullivan), Mason Dye (Jason Carver), Nikola Djuricko (Yuri), Tom Wlaschiha (Dmitri), Myles Truitt (Patrick), Regina Ting Chen (Ms. Kelly), Grace Van Dien (Chrissy), Logan Riley Bruner (Fred Benson), Logan Allen (Jake), Elodie Grace Orkin (Angela), John Reynolds (Officer Callahan), Rob Morgan (Chief Powell), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), and Freddy Krueger himself Robert Englund (Victor Creel).

Stranger Things is produced by Monkey Massacre Productions and 21 Laps Entertainment. Series creators The Duffer Brothers serve as executive producers alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps Entertainment, Iain Paterson, and Curtis Gwinn.

10 Cloverfield Lane and Prey director Dan Trachtenberg directed an episode of the final season before heading off to make the new Predator movie Badlands, starring Elle Fanning. The Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont also ended an 11 year break from directing to take the helm of an episode. New to the cast for Stranger Things season 5 are Linda Hamilton (The Terminator), Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise), newcomer Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux (Joe Pickett).

Are you looking forward to the last season of Stranger Things, and to seeing how things are going to be wrapped up in the finale? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

Scream 7: Matthew Lillard would love to come back as Stu Macher https://www.joblo.com/scream-7-stu/ https://www.joblo.com/scream-7-stu/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 19:21:40 +0000 https://www.joblo.com/?p=803855 If Kevin Williamson wants to bring Stu Macher back for Scream 7, Matthew Lillard would love to reprise the role

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after. So Scream 7 has been re-developed, Campbell has signed on to return as franchise heroine Sidney Prescott, back in the lead role – and her Scream (1996) co-star Matthew Lillard has confirmed that if he were asked to reprise the role of killer Stu Macher, he would gladly return.

Lillard expressed his interest in a Scream return while chatting with another Scream co-star on The Drew Barrymore Show. After shooting down the theory that Barrymore’s character could have somehow survived what happened to her in the film, he said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “Stu is definitely alive.” When asked if he would come back to play Stu in a sequel, he answered, “That would be fun. I would love it. If it made sense, if it made sense for the franchise. If Kevin [Williamson] liked it, then sure.

Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the original Scream, is set to direct this new sequel. In addition to writing the original Scream, Williamson has also written I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Faculty, and Halloween H20 (where his script contributions were uncredited). He wrote the initial drafts of Scream 3 and Scream 4, then those both received some major rewrites. For Scream 7, he’ll be working from a screenplay by 2022’s Scream and Scream VI writer Guy Busick, who crafted the story with his co-writer on the fifth and sixth films, James Vanderbilt. (Vanderbilt is also a producer on the most recent sequels.) Williamson made his directing debut with the 1999 thriller Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Twenty-five years later, Scream 7 will be his second directing credit.

Williamson has previously dismissed the idea that Stu could return by simply saying, “No, he’s dead.

So far, Neve Campbell is the only confirmed Scream 7 cast member. Courteney Cox has been in talks to reprise the role of reporter / author Gale Weathers since March, but she recently revealed that she hasn’t signed on yet. There have been rumors that Patrick Dempsey was being pursued to reprise his Scream 3 role of Detective Mark Kincaid, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

Scream 7 is set to reach theatres on February 27, 2026. Would you like to see Matthew Lillard return as Stu Macher in the film? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

The Girl in the Lake: Scarlett Johansson to produce and potentially star in mystery thriller https://www.joblo.com/the-girl-in-the-lake/ https://www.joblo.com/the-girl-in-the-lake/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 18:52:53 +0000 https://www.joblo.com/?p=803845 Scarlett Johansson is set to produce the mystery thriller The Girl in the Lake, described as What Lies Beneath meets The Sixth Sense

Amazon MGM Studios and producer Scott Stuber have teamed up to acquire the film adaptation rights to an adult mystery thriller novel proposal by bestselling author Lauren Oliver, and Deadline reports that Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson has boarded the project with the intention of producing it alongside Stuber… and, if she likes the script, she’ll also sign on to play the title character of The Girl in the Lake.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the story has been described as being along the lines of “What Lies Beneath meets The Sixth Sense.” So it sounds like there might be something supernatural going on with the girl in the lake.

Oliver is currently writing the screenplay. Johansson and Jonathan Lia will be producing the film through Johansson’s company These Pictures, while Marc Resteghini produces through Jack Tar Pictures. In addition to Scott Stuber, another producer on the project is Nick Nesbitt. Oliver serves as an executive producer. Formerly the Head of Film at the Netflix streaming service, Stuber is now endeavoring to revive the United Artists label at Amazon MGM. Stuber and Johansson previously worked together on Marriage Story and In Good Company.

Up to this point, Oliver has been best known for writing young adult novels like Panic; the Delirium trilogy of Delirium, Pandemonium, and Requiem; and Before I Fall. With The Girl in the Lake, she’s shifting over to adult thriller territory. Before I Fall received a film adaptation back in 2017, and Amazon Studios made a ten episode TV series adaptation of Panic back in 2021. Resteghini oversaw that show, as he was in charge of TV development for Amazon at the time.

I haven’t read any of Oliver’s work and haven’t seen the adaptations, but the involvement of Scarlett Johansson and the “What Lies Beneath meets The Sixth Sense” description is enough to get me interested in The Girl in the Lake. I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s going to turn out.

Does The Girl in the Lake sound interesting to you? Would you like to see Scarlett Johansson in a mystery thriller that’s reminiscent of What Lies Beneath and The Sixth Sense? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

Predator: Badlands bumps Blade out of its 2025 release date https://www.joblo.com/predator-badlands-blade/ https://www.joblo.com/predator-badlands-blade/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 17:00:12 +0000 https://www.joblo.com/?p=803811 Disney has removed Blade from its November 2025 release date and will be releasing Predator: Badlands on that date instead

The Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of Blade has had a long, rough ride through the development process, and as of right now it doesn’t even have a director attached (Jeymes Samuel, a.k.a. The Bullitts, who previously directed the Netflix Western The Harder They Fall and the Biblical dramedy The Book of Clarence, was recently rumored for the job, but he said there was no truth to the rumor). So there probably weren’t many Marvel fans who were expecting the movie to stick with its November 7, 2025 release date – and therefore, few will be surprised or disappointed to hear that Blade has indeed been bumped out of 2025. Deadline reports that Disney will be releasing 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands on November 7, 2025 instead of Marvel’s vampire slayer movie.

The fact that there was going to be a Blade reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Mashershala Ali in the title role, came as a huge surprise when the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July of 2019… but we’ve passed the five year anniversary of that announcement, and there’s still no sign that Blade will be filming any time soon. The closest we’ve gotten is Ali making a vocal cameo as the character at the end of Eternals back in 2021. We recently heard a rumor that Ali is getting “increasingly frustrated” with the long development process on this one. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre have been cast alongside Ali as the years have gone by, but are no longer involved, as their characters have apparently been written out. Co-star Mia Goth, who is rumored to be playing the villainous Lilith, is still attached – and she has said that she’s fine with the delays, because it shows that Marvel really cares about the project. Two directors, Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange, have dropped out along the way.

As for Predator: Badlands, this one is coming our way from Prey director Dan Trachtenberg, making him the first filmmaker to take the helm of two films in the Predator franchise. Trachtenberg crafted the story, which was then fleshed out into a screenplay by Prey screenwriter Patrick Aison.

According to a casting call, Predator: Badlands has the following synopsis: A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines delves into the intricate bond of two very different sisters, their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue divergent paths and missions. We’ve previously heard that the story is set sometime in the future.

The casting call was searching for a lead actress who could take on the dual role of twin sisters Thia and Tessa: This casting is for a dual character, and describes both characters. Character identifies as female or non-binary, open ethnicity, mid 20s – mid 40s. Thia has spent most of her life in a laboratory and is now embarking on her first big adventure in the world. She is incredibly smart, witty, enthusiastic, and unflappable. She has an innate disregard for danger, not because she’s fearless, but simply because she’s naive. Strong comedy chops required. // The other sister, Tessa, has a militant intensity when it comes to achieving her family’s goals and mission objectives. She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister.

Super 8‘s Elle Fanning stars in the film, which went into production in New Zealand earlier this year.

What do you think of Predator: Badlands bumping Blade out of its November 2025 release date? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

While taking Blade off of their schedule, Disney revealed that they have scheduled three untitled Marvel movies for release on February 18, 2028; May 5, 2028; and November 10, 2028.

Venom Spider-Man

Last month, it was reported that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is in talks to take the helm of the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man film now that Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts having moved on to other projects. Around the same time, a rumor emerged that Marvel Studios and Sony have been at odds on what sort of approach should be taken to Spider-Man 4. Marvel wanted to make a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” movie with the hero teaming up with fellow street-level hero Matt Murdock / Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox) to face off with the villain Wilson Fisk / Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) following the events of the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. On the other hand, Sony has been pushing to make the movie another high stakes multiversal adventure like Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the multiversal shenanigans this time around involving a crossover between the Spider-Man and Venom franchises, the title characters coming together to face off with a character who’s being introduced in Venom: The Last Dance, which reaches theatres this Friday: the villainous Knull, “an eldritch god of darkness and the creator of the symbiotes.” The rumor stated that Sony is coming out the winner of this argument and Spider-Man 4 will indeed feature Venom and Knull… but while we wait to find out if that’s true, Venom franchise star Tom Hardy has gone ahead and said that he’s “well up for” a Spider-Man crossover.

When The Direct asked him if there’s a crossover in our future, Hardy answered, “Will we ever meet Spider-Man? You know… See, there are always possibilities. But I cannot possibly say anything, because this is the last movie. And yeah, so I would love that.

During an appearance at the New York Comic Con last Friday, Hardy said, “I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 percent. I’m well up for it. I would never say never.” As for which Spider-Man actor he wants to share the screen with, Hardy told ComicBook.com, “Tom Holland, without a shadow of a doubt.

Venom: The Last Dance is meant to be the final Venom movie (thus the title), wrapping things up as a trilogy – but that doesn’t mean Hardy is done playing his character(s) from the series. He told IGN, “I’ve loved every moment of Eddie and Venom and I was really fond of them. I’d play them any time, you know, because there’s a special place that exists within me to want to operate those two characters wherever you put them in whatever capacity.

Whatever path Spider-Man 4 is taking, Holland is excited about it. During a recent interview, he confirmed that he has read a draft of the script and it “really lit a fire” in him. He said, “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.

Will Venom and Knull end up in Spider-Man 4? Venom: The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel has said her movie is “just the beginning” for Knull, so it’s not out of the question. Would you like to see this crossover happen? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

On October 25th, the Netflix streaming service will be releasing a horror film called Don’t Move, which was directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, produced by Sam Raimi, and stars Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille. But before we even get to see that Don’t Move, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that there’s already another horror thriller called Don’t Move to look forward to. This other project stars Lyndsy Fonseca (Hot Tub Time Machine) and is based on the best-selling 2020 novel of the same name that was written by Darren Wearmouth and James Murray, a.k.a. Murr from the comedy show Impractical Jokers!

Production on this Don’t Move wrapped in Kansas City last Friday. Maclain Nelson (Vamp U) directed the film, working from a screenplay he wrote with Wearmouth and Murray. The story centers on Megan Forrester (Fonseca), who joins her church group on a camping getaway after losing her family in a tragic accident. The trip takes a turn when the group, including mysterious member Ricky Vargas, mistakenly ends up in an area of the forest targeted by a dangerous predator.

Fonseca is joined in the cast by music star Russ, Tom Cavanagh (The Flash), Hunter King (Life in Pieces), Rob Riggle (The Hangover), and Joseph Lee Anderson (Young Rock). There are also cameo appearances by musician T-Pain, actor Matt Biedel (The Fall of the House of Usher), Murray, and his Impractical Jokers co-star Brian Quinn.

Murray provided the following statement: “A lot of folks ask me how an Impractical Joker can write horror. One could argue that what they do to me on Jokers is horror. I’m so excited to be working with this incredible team and ensemble cast to bring our novel Don’t Move to the big screen.

Nelson added, “I am thrilled to tackle a true horror film. The ensemble cast we have assembled for this movie is beyond talented. This story will break your heart and then rip it out of your rib cage. I am honored that Murr has trusted me with the script adaptation and direction of his first narrative feature film.

Don’t Move is coming our way from Murray’s new banner Impractical Studios. David M. Wulf is producing the film, with Jeremy Starline, Gina James, Lou Magrone, Rich Osiashvili, and Brian Schell serving as executive producers. Ethan Berman is a co-producer, with Kylie Rohead as an associate producer.

Spooky season doesn’t have to end just because we exit the month of October. Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label DREAD is set to continue the Halloween into November by giving the horror film He Never Left a limited theatrical release on November 1st, with a VOD release following on November 5th. (And if you want to buy the Blu-ray, that will be available on January 21st.) To help you decide whether or not you want to get your November started with He Never Left, we have the trailer embedded above.

Directed by James Morris, who previously worked on the TV series The Witching Season, He Never Left has the following synopsis: After hearing strange noises coming from an adjoining motel room, a federal fugitive and his girlfriend become targets of the notorious “Pale Face” killer, whose legend has haunted the local community for decades. Morris crafted the story with Colin Cunningham and The Witching Season creator Michael Ballif. Morris and Ballif produced the film together.

Morris and Cunningham also have acting roles in the film alongside Jessica Staples, Sean D. Hunter, David E. McMahon, Charla Bocchicchio, William McAllister, Jake Watters, Mary Ellen Wolfe, Alicia Oberle Farmer, Tommy Morris, and Hailey Nebeker.

Horror Society reports that Morris provided the following statement: “I’m hopeful that He Never Left will resonate with audiences on a deeper level than what they might expect.” Cunningham added, “These are people already navigating their own personal hell, and Satan just welcomes them to the neighborhood.

Ballif said, “As fans of the slasher genre, we wanted to create something that feels both familiar and nostalgic, yet refreshing and different. I’m thrilled for audiences to experience the ride we’ve crafted in He Never Left.” Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald had this to say: “He Never Left is a brilliant homage to ’80s/’90s slashers with a shocking twist. The Pale Face killer, crafted by visionary James Morris, is the new face of evil.

Are you interested in He Never Left? Take a look at the trailer, then let us know by leaving a comment below. I’m always hoping to find a cool new slasher movie, so I will be giving this one a try.

Venom: The Last Dance

A third film in the Marvel Comics-inspired Venom franchise made its way through production last year, shutting down for several months along the way due to the Screen Actors Guild strike. Now the film, titled Venom: The Last Dance, is heading for an October 25th theatrical release – but the first batch of viewers had their chance to see the movie last night, and the reactions that are coming out of that screening are quite positive, with several saying that this is the best movie in the Venom trilogy! Some of the reactions can be seen in the X embeds below.

The first Venom was scripted by Jeff Pinker, Scott Rosenberg, and Kelly Marcel. Ruben Fleischer directed that film, which made $856 million. But then Fleischer turned his focus to making Zombieland: Double Tap and Uncharted – so Andy Serkis took over as director on Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Which was written by Kelly Marcel, working from a story she crafted with star Tom Hardy. That sequel earned $506 million at the pandemic era global box office. Serkis said he would be glad to return to the helm for a follow-up – but when Venom 3 actually did come up, he opted to focus on other projects instead. So Venom: The Last Dance marks the feature directorial debut of Kelly Marcel. She also wrote the screenplay, based (again) on a story she crafted with Hardy.

Hardy is reprising the role of Eddie Brock / Venom for this sequel, and he is joined in the cast by Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), Clark Backo (Letterkenny), and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Official details on the new characters have not been revealed – but no, Ejiofor is not playing his Doctor Strange character Baron Mordo, since the Venom films are set in a different universe than the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Here is the official synopsis from the studio: In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance. The marketing has revealed that Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, shows up in the movie – and Marcel has said this is “just the beginning” for the villain. Since this is meant to be the last Venom movie, that seems to give some credibility to the rumors that Knull will carry on into the next Spider-Man movie.

Here’s a sample of the first reactions:

Venom: The Last Dance has been rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, bloody images and strong language. Are you looking forward to the film? What do you think of the first reactions? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

For forty years, the movie that has come to mind whenever the title Night Patrol came up was a goofball comedy starring the Unknown Comic Murray Langston and Linda Blair – but now director Ryan Prows is aiming to give us another Night Patrol to think about. This one is a horror film with a cast that includes Jermaine Fowler (The Blackening), Justin Long (Tusk), wrestler CM Punk (Girl on the Third Floor), Dermot Mulroney (Young Guns), RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Freddie Gibbs (Down With The King), YG (White Boy Rick), Flying Lotus (Ash), Jon Oswald (Lowlife), and Nicki Micheaux (Lowlife). Filming took place in Los Angeles and wrapped earlier this month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this Night Patrol follows an LAPD officer (Fowler) who must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in. Long plays the officer’s partner, recruited as a legacy into night patrol. Cyler stars as the officer’s brother, who sees what he isn’t supposed to see, while Mulroney plays Long’s character’s father, a sergeant with many secrets. Punk rounds out the cast as the sergeant’s brutal right-hand man.

Prows wrote the script with Shaye Ogbonna (Fight Night), Tim Cairo (Off Ramp), and Jake Gibson (He Bled Neon). This quartet previously collaborated on the screenplay for Prows’ feature directorial debut, the quirky crime thriller Lowlife. The director provided the following statement: “Audiences are not ready for how hard this movie goes. To shoot this script, with this cast, on location in Los Angeles, after such a long path to get here is nothing short of a dream.

David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producing Night Patrol through their company Phantom Four. Josh Goldbloom is also producing, as are James Harris and Mark Lane of Tea Shop Films. XYZ Films is executive producing and handling world sales, while Bondit Media Capital provided the financing. Executive producing for Bondit are Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, and Grady Craig. The film is aiming for a 2025 release.
