Taika Waititi and Charles Yu brings us a new reluctant hero in the new action comedy series Interior Chinatown. Hulu has just sent over the trailer, which features Jimmy O. Yang, Ronny Chieng, Chloe Bennet, Lisa Gilroy, Sullivan Jones, Archie Kao, and Diana Lin. The limited series is executive produced by Taika Waititi (who also directed the pilot) and Charles Yu (creator and showrunner). The series premieres with all ten episodes on November 19, 2024.

The official synopsis reads,
“Based on Charles Yu’s award-winning book of the same name, the show follows the story of Willis Wu, a background character trapped in a police procedural called ‘Black & White.’ Relegated to the background, Willis goes through the motions of his on-screen job, waiting tables, dreaming about a world beyond Chinatown and aspiring to be the lead of his own story. When Willis inadvertently becomes a witness to a crime, he begins to unravel a criminal web in Chinatown, while discovering his own family’s buried history and what it feels like to be in the spotlight.”

Series’ creator Charles Yu serves as executive producer, along with Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore for Rideback; Jeff Skoll, Miura Kite and Elsie Choi for Participant; Garrett Basch for Dive; John Lee; and Taika Waititi. The ten-episode limited series is produced by 20th Television.

Jimmy O. Yang can also be heard as one of the voice talents of the new season of the animated Gremlins season, Gremlins: The Wild Batch. Part one has already been made available on Max. Made by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Animation, Gremlins: The Wild Batch takes place one year after the events of season one and follows Gizmo, Sam, and Elle as they travel from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco, bringing even more magic, mystery and Mogwai mayhem. Hot on the trail of a new brood of evil Mogwai, our heroes journey deep into the American West, coming up against new supernatural creatures and picking up a few mysterious characters along the way.

Yellowstone season 5, part 2, has a premiere date of Sunday, November 10 at 8pm ET/PT. (Internationally, Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on November 10th, the U.K. on November 11, and in Latin America, Brazil and France later in November.) Although it was originally thought that the series would end with season 5, part 2, especially with the shaky ties the show has with star Kevin Costner, there is still a possibility that the series might continue on with season 6 in addition to the spin-offs that are planned.

Paramount Network has now unveiled the official trailer to the next part of the fifth season of Yellowstone.

TV’s #1 show, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.

The series was created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, and they both serve as executive producers alongside Art Linson, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros and Keith Cox. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The Yellowstone season 5, part 2 images below feature the characters played by Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Long), Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Montana Attorney General Jamie Dutton), Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry), Finn Little (Carter), Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), and Mo Brings Plenty (Mo).

Recently, a featurette was released that revealed how the actors were kept in the dark during the season. The featurette includes cast and crew discussing how “secretive” this final season has been for them. “On one hand, it was a big family reunion coming back, and on the other, it was a new set of challenges,” said director Christina Voros. “There was a lot of security around the script and the narrative. It’s a huge testament to the intrepidness of the crew, because you’ve learned how to do something a certain way for seven years and all of a sudden to have a new set of challenges that come from protecting the story for the sake of the audience.“

Jen Landon, who plays Teeter, added, “We get these redacted scripts. Basically everything is blacked out, except for your lines.” Colby actor Denim Richards said this adds to the “uniqueness” of the final season. “The audience will really see real reactions that were really not rehearsed.“

We have still yet to get the first release for DC Studio’s DCU, but with what we have seen so far with James Gunn’s Superman and now the full trailer for animated series Creature Commandos, they might actually be giving fans what they have long deserved.

James Gunn dropped the trailer for Creature Commandos this weekend, announcing on social media, “My pride in this project couldn’t be greater. A pleasure from start to finish with everyone involved. From DC Studios, here’s the full trailer for the beautiful, horrible and tragic” Creature Commandos. Below came the trailer itself, which features one badass opening line from Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller: “The United States is in the business of saving the damn world by any means possible…Congress said we can’t use human prisoners…These assholes aren’t human.”

From there, we get introduced to a taste of the level of chaos that Creature Commandos will bring: The Bride (Indira Varma), Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour), Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Weasel (Sean Gunn), Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao) and G.I. Robot (also Sean Gunn), while it’s Rick Flag Jr. (Frank Grillo) that will have to control them and their missions. That’s already a damn good cast, but Creature Commandos will also feature Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Michael Rooker, and Linda Cardellini.

No doubt Viola Davis will be one of the key player here, reprising her role from Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. But don’t worry – you won’t have to do any homework on previous DC properties to be able to jump into Creature Commandos, as Gunn has stated, “We don’t want anybody coming to Creature Commandos and going, oh, you have to watch The Suicide Squad to understand what happened to Creature Commandos. Oh, you have to watch Peacemaker. We want people to be able to come into this totally blind and they’re totally excited by it. So there’s nothing that isn’t explained in the show itself.” With that – and a trailer that sets the tone for the future of the DCU – you can get ready for the debut of the first TV entry in the rebrand on December 5th.

Season one of Creature Commandos will consist of seven episodes.

Discovery wants to keep the train (and money) rolling with Dune: Prophecy, a prequel series focusing on the Bene Gesserit, a collective of women with otherworldly abilities that help them shape the future and manipulate their enemies. Today’s epic Dune: Prophecy trailer reveals the show’s November 17 premiere and more from the upcoming special effects-heavy series.

Dune: Prophecy will be told through the eyes of a mysterious order of women known as the Bene Gesserit. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weaves through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.

The six-episode series is set 10,000 years before the events of Dune and follows the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten humankind’s future and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

After airing four show-stopping episodes of The Penguin, Max is teasing the remaining episodes of The Batman spinoff with a mid-season trailer that takes us into the heart of an all-out war between some of Gotham City’s worst criminals. After some startling revelations, the promo finds Oz Cobb and Sofia Falcone at odds, with Sofa vowing to pluck Oz’s feathers and seize control of a broken city. You can cut the tension with a knife as Oz’s world falls to pieces, with loved ones and associates threatened by the Falcone and Maroni families. If I were the Penguin, I’d get the hell out of Dodge, but as we all know, Oz isn’t one to back out of a fight.

Speaking with The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc, ScreenRant asked if fans could expect another season of the hit DC TV show. While nothing is concrete, LeFranc says there are more stories to tell using the Penguin‘s platform.

“Gotham is ripe to tell so many stories, the comics have shown that through decades and decades,” LeFranc told ScreenRant. “I love this version of Gotham too. I love all the characters that we’ve gotten to explore in this world. I think there’s always room for more of that. If the story can be even better, absolutely.”

Max’s mid-season teaser trailer for The Penguin gives me chills. I’ve followed the show since the jump and positively love it. I agree wholeheartedly with Alex Maidy’s 10/10 review and am thrilled to see many others enjoying it. When Max announced The Penguin, I didn’t know what to think. The character had a relatively minor role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, though Colin Farrell’s transformation into Oz Cobb was undeniably remarkable. The Penguin allows Farrell to spread his wings, and Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone is a revelation. Farrell and Milioti are powerhouses in The Penguin, and I’ve no idea how their confrontation will end.

The Penguin‘s mid-season trailer positions the rest of the season as a roller coaster ride of emotion, altercation, and action. Fans of the series should be extremely excited about what’s to come, and I can’t wait to check it out alongside everyone else.

No one knows how to make your mediocre job performance sting like a curmudgeonly co-worker at their wit’s end. They seem to know when you’re at your lowest point, then twist the knife to make you feel worse about not having the spoons to deal with tasks and unfinished projects. In Prime Video‘s Invincible Season 3 teaser trailer, Cecil (Walton Goggins) reads Mark (Steven Yeun) the riot act for botching a clean-up job for a group of criminal scum before reprimanding him for a laundry list of questions about why he’s slacking off. Like I said, no one gives you guff like a pissed-off co-worker.

Thankfully, Invincible Season 3 debuts on February 6, 2025, and there’s no mid-season break to give fans a reason to keyboard warrior their way through a period of impatience. Do you know how long it takes to produce an animated series? Exactly.

Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet. Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season One, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces many new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.

Today’s Invincible Season 3 teaser trailer delivers on the show’s promise to bring fans a complete season from start to finish. Invincible is an ultra-violent superhero romp with a fourth and fifth season possibly on the way. Skybound Republic also wants to bring the world of Invincible to video game platforms after successfully funding a crowd-sourced project from EA, Activision, Blizzard, and AMZ Games devs.

The Jake Paul/Mike Tyson bout is officially a month away and Netflix has released the trailer to their first foray into live combat sports. The match was postponed from the summer after Tyson suffered a small health issue and the event is now set to take place on Friday, November 15 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.

The official description from Netflix reads,
“Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) present a heavyweight boxing mega-event headlined by international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) vs. the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs). Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. In the co-main event, Matchroom’s undisputed super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will defend her undisputed title over 10, two-minute rounds against boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) in the most anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history. The sanctioned fight was approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations and will consist of eight two-minute rounds (instead of the usual three-minute rounds). Both boxers will wear 14-ounce gloves, heavier than the standard gloves.

Earlier this summer, Tyson released the statement after the postponement, “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly.  I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out. On Friday, November 15, watch this in-person at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix.”

Last year, a Jules Verne-inspired sea adventure series that explores the origins of Captain Nemo was canceled by Disney+. The show, Nautilus, then found a new home at AMC. It will also stream on Prime in the UK and Ireland and on Stan in Australia. Nautilus had already finished shooting when Disney dropped the series as a cost-cutting measure. As stated by CFO Christine McCarthy, “We are in the process of reviewing the content on our DTC services to align with the strategic changes in our approach to content curation…As a result, we will be removing certain content from our streaming platforms, and currently expect to take an impairment charge of approximately $1.5 to $1.8 billion.” Nautilus has now unleashed a new trailer courtesy of Prime Video, by way of Deadline.

The description reads, “Based on Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Nautilus tells the origin story of Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, joining him as he steals a formidable prototype submarine and escapes into the Indian Ocean with a crew, determined to enact revenge against the ruthless East India Mercantile Company.”

The series stars Shazad Latif as Nemo, the Indian Prince who sets sail with his ragtag crew on board the awe-inspiring Nautilus, where he not only battles with his enemy but also discovers a magical underwater world. In addition to Shazad Latif, Nautilus also stars Georgia Flood, Thierry Frémont, Pacharo Mzembe, Arlo Green, Tyrone Ngatai, Ling Cooper Tang, Andrew Shaw, Ashan Kumar, Céline Menville, and Kayden Price.

Nautilus was developed and produced by Xavier Marchand of Moonriver TV and Anand Tucker of Seven Stories. The series was written and is executive produced by James Dormer, as well as executive produced by Johanna Devereaux, Chris Loveall, Colleen Woodcock and Daisy Gilbert. Cameron Welsh is on board as the producer and Michael Matthews serves as the lead director and later episodes are directed by Ben Lucas and Isabelle Sieb. 

Last October, Ben Davis, EVP of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios stated, “Nautilus is a big, sweeping drama that is sure to appeal to fans of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe and other buzzy and fan-forward series like Orphan Black: Echoes. We are looking forward to bringing it to AMC+ and AMC as a special television event next year.”

Peacock has dropped the new trailer for The Day of the Jackal, a TV series based on Frederick Forsyth’s iconic spy novel of the same name.

The globe-trotting thriller stars Eddie Redmayne as an unrivalled and highly elusive assassin known only as the Jackal, who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.

In addition to Redmayne and Lynch, the series stars Úrsula Corberó (Snake Eyes), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Richard Dormer (Fortitude), Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Lia Williams (The Crown), Khalid Abdalla (United 93), Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead), and Jonjo O’Neill (Pennyworth). Ronan Bennett (Gunpowder) serves as writer and showrunner, with Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) directing.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly last month, Redmayne said the series will give more insight into his character than the 1973 movie was able to. “One of the things that appealed to me about doing this series was, in Edward Fox’s version — it’s two hours, that movie — Edward is so filled with charisma… and kind of wit and elegance, but you never get to learn anything about it,” Redmayne said. “I wanted to see if through this 10-hour thing, we could get to know someone, but always be second guessing.” Redmayne added that the 1973 film was “one of those movies that my family would watch again and again and again.“

“And so I thought, wow, this is bold, that they’re going to try and reimagine this. And what I read, I just found completely thrilling and compelling, and at each moment it threw me off course and it kind of discombobulated me, but I couldn’t stop turning the pages,” Redmayne said. “I hadn’t done television for a few years, but the idea of getting to spend a proper amount of time with this enigma felt like great material to mine.“

The first five episodes of The Day of the Jackal will premiere on Peacock on November 14th, followed by weekly episodes until the double-episode finale on December 12th. In the UK, the series will premiere on Sky on November 7th.

After 34 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 15 in the DCEU, and various television series focusing on superhero shenanigans, it’s understandable why some people say they’ve got “superhero fatigue.” Oversaturation is an unfortunate inevitability whenever Hollywood sees dollar signs stacking up. For years, superhero cinema was the cream of the box office crop. While Deadpool & Wolverine is the exception to superhero movies trending downward (for now) in the public interest, the genre remains ripe for parody, and that’s why HBO‘s The Franchise trailer is ready to poke fun at the process of bringing super-powered punching bags to screens.

Here’s the official description of The Franchise: “The crew of an unloved franchise movie fight for their place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe. The Franchise shines a light on the secret chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the question — how exactly does the cinematic sausage get made? Because every f*ck-up has an origin story.”

Created by Jon Brown, Armando Iannucci, and Sam Mendes, The Franchise stars Billy Magnussen (Road House), Aya Cash (The Boys), Himesh Patel (Yesterday), and Lolly Adefope (Ghosts), among others.

JoBlo’s Alex Maidy talks about how much he enjoyed the series in his review, saying, “The Franchise is a very specific and targeted send-up of the very industry and projects that the producers and crew of this series are a part of. There is a lot of potential for The Franchise to continue making fun of Hollywood blockbusters for seasons to come with this eight-episode season, never overstaying its welcome while still cramming in copious jokes at the expense of Hollywood studios. With great performances from everyone, led by a hilariously deadpan Himesh Patel, The Franchise should be HBO’s next big hit. I laughed out loud multiple times throughout the series, especially during the back half of the season, with the cameos (both real and fictional) making this a long-awaited satire of superhero fatigue.”
